Cameron Falls

Cameron Falls is a stunning cascade located right at the edge of Waterton Townsite, making it one of the most accessible and dramatic waterfalls in all of Alberta. Fed by Cameron Creek, the falls tumble powerfully over ancient Precambrian rock — some of the oldest exposed rock in North America. During periods of high water, the falls take on a spectacular reddish hue caused by natural algae blooms. Beautifully lit at night, the falls are illuminated for evening strolls that feel almost magical. Surrounded by lush vegetation and mountain scenery, this is a photographer’s paradise.
